Ashley Sharpe w/ Jason D'Masi VS Luca Tate WINNER: Ashley Sharpe w/ Jason D'Masi
This week began second round competition for the mens and womens heavyweight titles and it all kicked off with two ambitious young men in Ashley Sharpe and Luca Tate fighting to find out who advances in the tournament. Luca was very aware of the threat at ringside with Jason D'Masi and kept as close an eye as he possibly could on him. The match was shockingly back and forth the entire match, the two showing that they had what it took to be contenders and even showed Ashley as someone who very much can wrestle a match at a high caliber contrary to what some people may think about him. Luca came close several times in defeating Ashley, but it would be Ashley who managed to win through a roll up, but one that came with a forearm directly to the groin, unseen by the referee.
Skyler West VS Spencer Duquette WINNER: Spencer Duquette
Every single one of Abbott Pro Wrestling's social media platforms have been lit up with video footage over the last couple of weeks where Skyler West's life has been anything but calm. As promised, there always seemed to be a series of unfortunate events for the man which would result in him having to run from his former partner and friend, Samual Moor. Everything from his tires being slashed to running into the man in a restaurant, West couldn't shake him. So he came back to work this week in an attempt to at least be in a place with security. Here, he would face Spencer Duquette who was coming off a surprise win after his Abbott debut against Baxter Irelund. It seemed Spencer's win had given him a bit of a pep in his step and one tiny light on his LED vest to beam as he came out. The two would have an incredible match with one another highlighting why Spencer was such a big deal internationally despite the string of losses he'd had before coming to Abbott Pro Wrestling and why Skyler is a seasoned veteran that has an incredible body of work to speak for. The fans were having a tremendous back and forth which was even more surprising as Skyler had disdain for the crowd, but the match would ultimately end in Duquette picking up another win after a very complete Thunderkiss '86 to finish things out. Post-match, Skyler was coming around and had gotten out of the ring to head to the back but was stopped immediately in his tracks by Samual Moor in the flesh who had a baseball bat along with him. The last thing the fans saw of West was him running like he owed this man money, but they didn't care all that much with a living legend like Samual in the house.
Harvey Grove VS Draeven Narvaez WINNER: Harvey Grove
Two true hard hitting heavyweights in round two of the tournament for the title met in one hell of a grueling match as Harvey Grove and Draeven Narvaez both went shot for shot to earn a spot going forward in the tournament. Blood was shed, unsurprisingly, by Harvey who would be busted open after his head collided with the corner of the steel steps on a very uneven shot off the apron, but he would come back strong and just as insane as people knew him to be. It was almost as if the bleeding egged the man on because he seemed more erratic but also stronger. This strength would win him the match after nearly knocking Draeven out and picking up the pin after the three count.
Cooper Kelly Appears
After a hard hitting win the week prior, Cooper Kelly was abruptly cut off in his audible rampage about being the Submission King and how nobody on God's green Earth could touch him. The person in question? Lindsey Taylor. He was none too pleased about this and had accepted the challenge from Lindsey then and there as ego and pride seemed to surface more than anything else. That would bring the man out this week to talk about the challenge and he had a plethora of colorful words for Lindsey to start with. Cooper would drone on about how Lindsey was the flavor of the week for fans to fawn over because of his pretty good looks and his oh-so-proper British accent that was fawned over by many. His biggest point of verbal attack came as he discussed why Lindsey was even in Abbott Pro Wrestling at that moment and that was simply because he couldn't cut it through British or Japanese Strong Style wrestling and so he ran to the United States, not realizing the talent here out-shined him even more. He issued a strong warning for Lindsey at the end of his words, making sure to get the point across that not only was he going to kick his head off, he was going to rip his arm off and make sure his legs didn't work ever again.
Katyana Mikhailov VS Cassandra Bishop WINNER: Katyana Mikhailov
The first match of round two for the women's division tournament came with two well versed young women in Katyana Mikhailov and Cassandra Bishop. Skills and power came into play with this dance and it wasn't any shock that they went at it heavily trying to one up one another so someone could get the upper hand. Cassandra would take the early lead in the match and let herself get a little too full of herself as she went on, shouting about how great she was and why she'd be the one to win the whole tournament at the crowd while Katyana was down following a tremendous spinebuster. The jaw jacking was the big downfall for Cassandra because Katyana would come back full force and wind up winning the match with a submission hold, showing that Cassandra was not as great as she said she was.
Ezra Fitzherb & Percy Lupton VS Aiden Zhouli & Ripley Gold WINNER: NO CONTEST
A match a week in the making, the duo of Ezra Fitzherb and Percy Lupton would face Aiden Zhouli and Ripley Gold in a tag team match that came after Percy picked up the win to earn it a week prior. This match was regarded as highly anticipated by many fans and the wait was worth it because the two teams would continue to show that tag team wrestling was red hot and they were two of the best tandems going in the company and possibly around the world. The match, however, would not find a conclusive end because as the teams were working on many near falls, the match would be interrupted by a debuting team of Australian talent in the Mitchell Brothers who would attack both teams and take them out to declare dominance on their part, Aleki going on record in the camera and shouting that they were taking over.
Raya Williams VS Mina Irving WINNER: Raya Williams
The main event of the evening would host a re-match of sorts between Mina Irving and Raya Williams in round two of the tournament for the women's division reaching a definitive champion for Abbott Pro Wrestling. The last time the two women met, Mina was on the winning end after exploiting a weak spot for the sunshine girl Raya. This time, Mina would not have it as easy. With all of the determination in the world, Raya would take it to her with the full intent to win the entire match and she did after making damn sure that she wouldn't be taken advantage of again. Raya picked up the win after a massive pounce and powerbomb combination, ending the night on a massive high.
