FRIDAY NIGHT MAYHEM!

Ryder Evans VS Bastian Ravenshaw WINNER: Bastian Ravenshaw via DQ

The opening match for this weeks show was highly anticipated by so many in the wrestling community as a whole where two international stars went head-to-head to see who could best one another. The match was intense from the get-go where both Ryder Evans and Bastian Ravenshaw nearly mirrored one another's moves or at the very least had each other's number. The fans were plugged in with a half and half crowd reaction for both men as the match progressed but the cheers for both would soon turn into boos as Ashley Sharpe and Jason D'Masi made their way from the back and loitered around ringside. The referee admonished both men with Ashley holding up his hands in defense of himself but when all was said and done, he and Jason would assault Bastian, the referee calling for the bell and delivering the win announcement for Bastian via disqualification. He'd try to break up the assault but was tossed directly out of the ring by Ashley as Jason took the lead on beating the tar out of Bastian. They would then flee the scene as Ryder intervened but this time brought an equalizer in a steel chair, swinging for the fences, but not quite hitting anyone. The shit talking commenced on the way back as Ryder checked on Bastian. Tom Arden on commentary cited the potential feud being started here.

Kieron Laughlin & Jett Smith segment

Emily Smith was well on her way to introduce who was with her at that time but was shut down quickly as two men came into view, being that of Kieron Laughlin of the legendary Laughlin family and Jett Smith who aligned himself with Kieron very quickly upon his first appearance on Friday Night Mayhem. Kieron immediately went to taunting Spence Duquette, asking if he remembered him now. Jett was seen laughing like a mad man, pacing behind Kieron as he continued, saying that he knew many a man who owed him a debt but no one owed him a debt greater than Spencer and it was time to pay up or face the consequences and those consequences were not going to give him a single bit of mercy. Jett's laughter only peaked after that and he shoved the camera man out of the way, closing out what they had to say.

Sherri Linwood VS Rudy Anders WINNER: Sherri Linwood

Social media buzzed the moment Sherri Linwood issued a challenge for her first match in almost two decades to any woman on the Abbott Pro Wrestling roster. The challenge was taken up by Rudy Anders not long after and the match was set for the show. Anticipation was high to see if the legend of Sherri lived up to what she had done long ago and the match did not disappoint. Sherri was coy, playing possum about ring rust at first and managed to get the upper hand swiftly after that over Rudy who was trying to use her power advantage to win the match. Unfortunately for Rudy, she would lose the match after a roll up with tights being held for the advantage and that was after being knocked into a turnbuckle that didn't have a cover on it. Some would speculate that Sherri had a vast advantage with the final sequence, while others played up to her need to be praised for why women were taken seriously these days.

Akasha Corrigan segment

Backstage, Emily Smith greeted everyone before panning out to the sight of Akasha Corrigan and Erik Grim. Emily turned her attentions toward the two and questioned what the two of them were looking to do to or with Lily Azuroth. Akasha looked almost offended at the question and then looked toward Erik and then back at Emily before stating that this was not something weird like everyone seems to assume. What she and Erik were doing was simply scouting and supporting Lily because they see something in her. They want to help her tap into the one thing that she's missing out on. Sure, winning matches is great, but total and utter domination is a whole other story and if she wants that, she can right herself and join the fold that she and Erik have formed. Or, if she thinks she can succeed on her own and she insists on the nonsense of a match, she's on for next week. She urged Lily to really think about it, because it could mean the difference between her getting championships and glory, or the end of her entire career.

Lindsey Taylor VS Maddox Fitzherb WINNER: Lindsey Taylor

Despite the fact that this was not the match Lindsey Taylor wanted, he still took up stakes and performed against Maddox Fitzherb who gave him a good go around in the ring. The entire match seemed to showcase both Maddox's unorthodox prowess in high flying and counter moves and Lindsey's ability to tie someone up like a pretzel and chain wrestle to get there. A few times Maddox used his long limbs to his advantage to break up a move by touching the ropes, but Lindsey would figure him out with veteran ease and managed to tie the man up so much in such an uncomfortable position, Maddox had no choice but to verbally give up. Post-match, Cooper Kelly rushed the ring and confronted Lindsey, slapping him across the face and demanded that rematch as if he were the reason it was being held up. Lindsey stood there for a moment and stared at the other man before telling him he was on and then took him to the mat to try and get him tied up like Maddox had been, but Cooper slid out of the ring in response before things got any worse.

Harvey Grove VS Fletcher Murphy WINNER: Harvey Grove

The Abbott Pro Wrestling World Champion Harvey Grove took up the task of facing scrappy Australian star Fletcher Murphy. On commentary for the match was Bentley Fehrmann who recently made his intentions known as Harvey insisted people step up to the plate. He had very bold opinions about not only the match right now, but those involved; Harvey especially. The match was surprisingly back and forth, many thinking that Harvey would lights out the newer talent in Fletcher without much complication. However, Fletcher proved how good he was and why he was a talent chosen for Abbott Pro Wrestling. That wasn't enough, though, and Harvey picked up the win after a brutal Death Rider. After the match was through, he came face to face with Bentley once again, laying out the challenge for him of any time anywhere and Bentley responded: next week, with Harvey accepting.

Aleki Mitchell & Mikaele Mitchell VS Ezra Fitzherb & Percy Lupton VS Aiden Zhouli & Ripley Gold WINNER: Ezra Fitzherb & Percy Lupton

The finals of the Abbott Pro Wrestling Tag Team Championship tournament was finally here, pitting the three teams that won their respective qualifying matches over the last three weeks. The two beautiful title belts were hung over the ring quite the ways up and the only way that you could succeed in this match was to climb a ladder and retrieve both tag team title belts. With the competitors still fairly fresh to the company, there was no odds-on favorite to win this match but what we got blew the minds of all of the people in attendance and watching at home. These teams were completely hungry to win and stopped at nothing to get there. For a moment people assumed that the Mitchell brothers would exude dominance over the match and they did so taking out their opponents with a lot of strength filled brutality, but as they tried to ascend to the titles, the ladder was pushed over by Percy Lupton who would try to right the ladder and climb it, but was interrupted by Aiden Zhouli who avalanche blue thunder bombed him off of the ladder onto another ladder laying in the ring. There were many crazy spots including one that shocked so many where Mikaele Mitchell channeled Cloud Fairbanks but made it his own by taking the tallest ladder they had in the ring and did a 450 splash off of it and onto Ripley Gold who at the time had been incapacitated and laid out on a table. Several nasty spots happened to Percy Lupton and Ezra Fitzherb respectively as taking risks only got riskier, but these spots did not deter the two because they would be the ones in the end who wound up winning the match, able to out-do their opponents and capture the titles after Ezra held on to the ladder and Percy made as quick of an ascent up the ladder as he possibly could. The fans seemed incredibly satisfied.
